The 88th Academy Awards are almost here. To celebrate 2015 in film, I’ve put together a rather massive collage of every movie that received a nomination. Witness!
See if you can find and name them all:
Some (like Mad Max and Star Wars: The Force Awakens) are quite obvious, but others are harder to find.
2015 wasn’t the best year in film (not just because of the #oscarssowhite controversy, but also in quality of entries) so I had to do quite a bit of trailer watching to get ideas for a lot of these.
Of the less famous entries I did see, we have the robot-lady from the wonderful mindf*ck sci-fi thriller Ex Machina (mixed in here with Harvey Keitel and Michael Cane from Youth) and the disappointing financial crisis study piece The Big Short.
Worth mentioning are also Sicaro (great thriller about the war on drugs), Straight Outta Compton (for the soundtrack alone) and Tarantino’s Hateful Eight (not his best paced piece, but still enjoyable).
I should also add that I left out all films in the foreign film category, as they’re a bit too obscure for a light format.
Other than those, the movies are all there (I counted, twice).
